Chambers is seeking to recruit a highly effective and organised individual with a proactive, “can-do” attitude and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks. Working closely with and reporting to the Operational Support Manager, this newly created position plays a key part in both the day-to-day management of Chambers’ first-class support function. The ideal candidate will offer energy and commitment.
Working across Facilities Management, H&S, IT, Regulatory and Compliance and general Administration, key duties include (but are not limited to):
- Facilities management – Primary contact for the Landlord on leases, rent, refurbishment, modification, etc.
- Primary contact for all external suppliers, which will include some contract negotiation and procurement of office equipment
- H&S training, PAT testing, fire and risk assessments, records maintenance
- Act as a first point of contact for all IT issues and regularly review the delivery of service level agreement timeframes
- Responsible for the effective management of the Chambers’ regulatory and compliance needs by ensuring the Chambers is compliant with all regulatory requirements, including GDPR, the Members Handbook, Bar Standards Board and Equality and Diversity, utilising the services of colleagues/contractors as required.
The role is offered on a part-time basis, initially with core hours of 15 hours per week (ideally delivered over three 5-hour working days). A background of (ideally) working in a barristers’ chambers (including how a Chambers operates and nurturing the relationship with the Clerk’s team) or a similarly fast-paced legal/professional service business would be an advantage.
