1. Working in Partnership

From the outset we work with clients and candidates in consultative and constructive processes designed to advise most effectively on rapidly changing sector requirements. We are open and not afraid to push back where required.

2. Strategy Selection & Sourcing

We work hard to clearly define roles, future requirements, map out possibilities and understand the needs of both the business and the potential candidate so that we can always provide appropriate advice and guidance.

3. Selection Process

We take the time to meet every long-listed candidate in person, why? Experience tells us that a candidate’s CV is only part of their story and the real value add to our clients is in providing insight gained through actually sitting down with people. This also ensures our shortlists are diverse and appropriate.

Our Services

Recruitment

Having played a significant role in the development of leading Chambers and the practices of some of the biggest names at the Bar, GRL’s consultants are perfectly placed to advise and support chambers seeking new members and individuals and teams testing the market or exploring their options.

Through their hands-on experience in senior leadership roles in leading barristers’ chambers, law firms and the professional services sector, GRL’s consultants are uniquely placed to advise on and recruit to a full range of leadership roles at the Bar. We enjoy advising the Bar on newly created and existing roles and in attracting and securing the most talented individuals.

Modern business practices require a more defined approach, including the management of defined elements of the business by professionals able to manage effectively and work collaboratively.

GRL understands the importance of effective business development and marketing for the Bar and works in partnership with clients to attract and recruit individuals capable of developing and improving works streams, maintaining and growing existing client relationships and building and improving the visibility of the business.

GRL has an outstanding record of attracting and placing highly suitable individuals to all business support and administration roles at the Bar.  Our service is efficient and pro-active and we operate with the utmost discretion when dealing with clients and candidates alike.  We run open, robust and fair recruitment processes, placing client and candidate needs at the heart of everything we do.

We work with small, mid sized and boutique law firms, other professional services businesses and legal innovators (ABS and barrister led entities), providing a complete range of services and solutions as we do with the Bar.  Lawyers, leaders, business drivers and professional business support roles, all assignments are dealt with the same level of commitment to service and client care.

Consultancy

GRL has a proven track record of working in partnership with clients on small, medium and large scale single consultancy projects or on an on-going basis. We also understand the importance of impartiality, which allows us to operate most effectively.

Business Development

Legal Directory submissions – through our expert consultant Sheena Byrne, a qualified solicitor, business development professional and one of the original team of researchers and then editor of Chambers UK Guide, we advise and guide on specific elements or manage entire directory processes for the Bar and law firms.
