37.5 working hours a week – Hybrid working offered
Our client, Guildhall Chambers, is a preeminent multi-disciplinary set of barristers’ chambers based in Bristol and London, operating throughout England & Wales.
After a period of growth, Chambers is looking to recruit an experienced Practice Manager (PM) to work with their barristers practising in their Property, Trusts & Estates, Insolvency & Restructuring and Commercial law (“PRINSCOM”) teams. This newly created role reports to the PM Team Leader, who in turn reports to the Civil Practice Director, who oversees all civil practice management. The PRINSCOM clerking team also has two Assistant Practice Managers.
This role carries considerable responsibility, working with 30 barristers, each of whom will look to their clerks as the initial point of contact for the management of their practice and individual cases. There is a strong client-facing aspect to the role, both in day-to-day dealings with solicitors, and in building relationships and supporting members in broader business-development activities. The role also demands a commercial and flexible approach and the ability to manage several concurrent tasks, often under pressure. This PM will be required to deputise for the Team Leader and support all the Civil Practice Managers in Chambers’ other practice teams when necessary.
The successful candidate is likely to have at least 5-6 years’ experience managing the practices of barristers, ideally in the relevant areas of practice. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Bristol, and there is scope for some working from home, dependent on the needs of the business. The starting salary will be between £40K to £55K, according to the experience of the candidate.
Guildhall Chambers are an equal opportunities employer who value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. They encourage applications from suitably qualified individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.
To apply, please forward your CV, which should clearly outline your suitability for the role, to exclusively retained consultants GRL Legal.
