Our client, Deka Chambers, is a leading common law Barristers’ Chambers recognised for its excellence across Civil, Family and Criminal law. Chambers is modern, forward-thinking and trusted for its client-focused approach.
Following continued growth and internal development, Chambers is seeking to appoint an Assistant Practice Manager with around 2-3 years’ experience to join its Civil team and support the delivery of high-quality practice management to its members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the diary and practice management of a designated team of barristers
- Maintain and update Chambers LEX case and diary management system – ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Liaise with solicitors, courts and clerks and staff in other chambers to manage listings and hearings
- Respond promptly to client enquiries, advising on suitable counsel and availability
- Under supervision – negotiating and agreeing fees
- Work closely with colleagues and ensure clear communication within the team and across Chambers
- Provide operational support to colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of Chambers
- Contribute to Chambers’ business development objectives by attending marketing functions when required
The Person
The successful candidate will be confident, organised and proactive, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering excellent client service. You will enjoy working within a busy team and demonstrate the ability to remain calm, professional and accurate under pressure. Experience within a barristers’ chambers or a legal/professional services environment is desirable. You will be seeking to take the next step in your career.
