Our client is a leading Barristers’ Chambers based in the heart of “Legal London” with a pre-eminent reputation for the work its members undertake in Employment, Discrimination and Equality, Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence, Sports and Entertainment, Commercial, Human Rights and Public law. Chambers’ clients range from individuals to public institutions and global companies in each of its key practice areas.

There are currently 55 barrister members, including 18 KCs (“Silks”) plus two pupil barristers.  Members are supported by a team of Clerks (Practice Managers) and wider support staff, all recognised for their outstanding, efficient, and highly personable client service. The Role:

Chambers is seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate to join its highly regarded and friendly team.  Reporting to the Senior Clerk, suitable candidates will be able to work well under pressure and seek to take ownership of a rewarding role in a forward-thinking and proactive, and professional environment. This role offers some flexible working (after a probationary period).

Main responsibilities include:

  • Significant Diary, Fee, E-mail, and Case Management
  • Contributing to the management and development of the practices of individual barristers and Chambers generally
  • Quote, negotiate and agree fees for junior barristers (in conjunction with colleagues)
  • Liaise with courts and tribunals to ensure efficient listing of cases
  • Actively manage barristers’ time efficiently and effectively, in consultation with each member
  • Review and allocate instructions timely
  • Efficient recording of information and data management
  • General administration and office management

Suitable candidates will:

Ideally, have no less than two to three years of experience in another similarly successful Barristers’ Chambers. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be highly personable, and work well under pressure with accuracy.
