Chambers seeks to appoint a highly suitable individual to the position of Assistant Fees Clerk. This important role is integral to the smooth and efficient running of Chambers.

This role will suit a school leaver/graduate with an interest in finance, or someone with 6-18 months experience in a financial support role in a similar professional environment.  The successful applicant must possess a strong team ethic, be able to work using personal initiative and thrive in a very busy environment.  They must be keen to continuously develop and take on increased responsibilities as they develop. Working in a dynamic team of three, full training will be provided.

Duties include;

  • Assisting in the billing and collection of professional fees/invoices
  • Inputting fees onto the bespoke Barristers’ CRM and fees system (LEX)
  • Dealing with external organisations such as the Legal Aid Authority, CPS and Crown Court Service
  • Use reports from the LEX system to find unbilled/unassessed cases
  • Chase unpaid debt via telephone and/or email
  • Regular Barrister and Client contact
