GRL was delighted to be ‘Silver Sponsor’ of the Bar Conference 2024, held on Saturday, June 8, in Bishopsgate, London. The event kicked off with an evening drinks reception on Friday, June 7. This annual conference is a pivotal event for the legal community, offering a unique platform for attendees to:

  • Gain insights into developments across the justice system
  • Hear from thought leaders on critical issues facing the Bar
  • Participate in sessions supporting continuing professional development

The Bar Conference serves as a vital opportunity for barristers to come together, learn, network, and engage with peers from across the profession. It stands out as the sole event that unites the entire Bar, featuring a distinguished program of expert speakers who discussed major issues and provide practical career advice.

Highlights of the Bar Conference 2024

The conference boasted high-profile keynote speakers, including the Lady Chief Justice, the Chair of the Bar, and the Chair of the Young Barristers’ Committee. Attendees were treated to insightful sessions that explored the future of international courts and the role of artificial intelligence in the justice system. Additional breakout options covered a wide range of topics, from career development sessions on earnings and diversifying practice, to pressing issues such as reforming private prosecutions, ethical dilemmas, and navigating inter-generational differences. The event also featured an exhibition showcasing organisations that support the Bar.

The conference provided an invaluable networking opportunity, allowing colleagues to reconnect and new connections to be forged.

GRL’s Participation

We were immensely proud to be the Silver Sponsor of this year’s event. Our Directors, Matt and Nick, had a fantastic time engaging with individuals from across the bar and wider legal sector. Our lanyard sponsorship was well-received, and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a significant event.

GRL looks forward to continuing our support and involvement in future Bar Conferences, contributing to the ongoing development and success of the legal profession.
