We're pulling back the curtain on Chambers life through the eyes of those who know it best. Our #OffTheRecord newsletter is now live.

“The Human Edge in an AI World”

We were proud to return as Silver Sponsors at this year’s IBC Annual Conference, held on 22 November. The theme – “The Human Edge in an AI World” – captured the spirit of the day perfectly. AI is no longer a speculative talking point at the Bar; it has become a practical tool influencing strategy, operations and client experience.

Our team – Paul, Matt and Nick – spent the day reconnecting with long-standing contacts and meeting new faces across the profession. What stood out was the shared understanding that AI should enhance what people do best, not replace it. The conversations were grounded, honest and focused on real outcomes.

How AI is Beginning to Shape Chambers

Across the day, several themes emerged as Chambers start to adopt AI in practical, meaningful ways:

  1. Turning Data Into Clear ROI

AI-driven analytics are helping Chambers understand which BD activities, marketing efforts and client engagement initiatives deliver real value.

  1. Capturing Market Intelligence at Scale

AI tools are enabling faster, more accurate monitoring of sector shifts, emerging practice areas and evolving client needs.

  1. Operational Efficiency

From forecasting and workload allocation to administrative streamlining, AI is helping clerks and staff work more efficiently while maintaining a personal, relationship-led approach.

  1. Enhanced Client Experience

Quicker onboarding, consistent communication and clearer reporting are just some of the ways AI supports a more responsive and polished client journey.

The overarching message from the conference was clear: AI strengthens the human edge when used with intention, structure and professional judgment.

Celebrating Our Prize Winners

We were also pleased to run two competitions during the conference, both of which were extremely well received.

A huge congratulations to Sian, winner of The Ultimate Ivy Asia Experience – The Sparkling Gift Card & Cuvée. Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter — the engagement throughout the event was fantastic.

Looking Ahead

The IBC Conference remains a valuable moment in the year for reflecting on how the profession is evolving, and this year’s focus on people in an AI-led future felt especially timely. We’re grateful for the conversations, insights and connections throughout the day.
