Working within an established and dynamic team, this role will assist the Director of Clerking and the other Practice Management staff efficiently to manage Chambers and the practices of all its members.

This is a starter role where no previous experience is necessary and full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery and collection of barristers’ papers to and from Court and other associated materials (such as files of case reports, Orders and Skeleton Arguments).
  • Assist with the copying and making up bundles of cases at the instructions of Members of Chambers directly or via the Practice Management team.
  • Entering and processing instructions and briefs received via Post, e-mail, telephone, couriers as and when required.
  • Entering details of hearings, conferences and paperwork in the diary.
  • Liaising with the Crown, Coroners and Magistrates courts regarding hearing dates or requests of information.
  • Assisting the other clerks in the day to day running of the Clerks Room including answering the telephone.
  • Liaising with members of Chambers and suppliers of work as appropriate to ensure that the members are aware of their professional commitments and are in possession of all necessary instructions.
