Members of its award-winning staff team, play a vital part in the success of the set and Chambers is seeking a bright, highly motivated individual to join as a Fees Clerk. Chambers has an excellent record of developing its staff and promoting from within.

Working under the supervision of the Senior Fees Clerk, the Fees Clerk is expected to provide high quality assistance to the Finance Team.

Duties will include;

  • Assisting with an organised approach to Chamber’s fee chasing systems
  • Proactively chasing and reporting of Barristers’ aged debt, including communication thereof
  • Time recording and billing as required
  • Sending fee notes and invoices for all new work billed
  • Prompt follow up of billing queries and requests
  • Billing of legally aided fees including submission of bills/payment on account applications on CCMS (training will be provided)
  • Processing payments on to LEX system
  • Processing payments to online banking system and daily bank reconciliation when required
  • Providing general assistance with other fee-related tasks and projects when required

Suitable candidates will have;

  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in a fees collection role in another Chambers/Law Firm
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, barristers, and clients
  • Calm, patient, and flexible approach to work in a very busy environment
  • Work well under pressure with the ability to multi-task
  • Professional attitude and presentation
  • Good organisational skills to ensure all financial information is accurate and up to date
  • Good A-level qualifications (including an A*to C grade in Mathematics)
