(562) Part-time Finance Assistant and Administrator – Arbitration Chambers (London)

Our client is a leading Arbitration Chambers, based in London.

Working closely with the Chambers Director, you will be encouraged to develop your general skills, as well as to apply your accounting qualification and experience.  A capable bookkeeper, you will be entrusted with much of the day-to-day accounting where attention to detail is paramount, as is the maturity and confidence to interact with senior lawyers, and the ability to foster good relationships with our existing Accountant and other staff members. You will manage many aspects of daily / monthly book keeping, working in tandem with our existing external Accountant, as well as assist with general admin and facilities management as required.

The successful candidate will be someone who is always looking to contribute new ideas, in particular as to how financial processes and controls can continue to be improved, but strong enough to ask for guidance and help when appropriate.

Duties include:

  • Processing Purchase/Sales Ledger invoices in our Sage accounting system
  • Preparing invoices on behalf of arbitrators
  • Processing and chasing payments
  • Managing and processing expenses, including corporate credit cards
  • Supporting HR processes as required, such as joiners & leavers
  • Maintaining compliance and regulation records
  • Assisting with GDPR issues e.g. SARs
  • Acting as a contact point for occupancy issues
  • Managing cleaning, photocopier & ICT contracts

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a finance team
  • Professional accounting qualification AAT (part qualified) preferred, but not essential
  • Solid knowledge of Sage
  • IT literacy (MS office)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
