Our client is a leading specialist Barristers’ Chambers based in the heart of ‘legal London’ with an outstanding reputation in each of its core areas of practice. Its 24 members (including 10 ‘QCs’) specialise in commercial litigation, arbitration, Insolvency and financial services, and additional areas that compliment its core domestic and international practice.

Offering a very collegiate, friendly and progressive environment, Chambers now seeks to appoint an highly suitable individual to this newly created position. This key support role will be the responsible for all aspects of Chambers’ front of house duties and will offer significant support to the administration function of Chambers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Answering client calls, forwarding calls to clerks and barristers, and taking messages when necessary
  • To provide excellent front of house service, greeting private clients and solicitors with a welcoming, efficient service
  • Allocating conference rooms to barristers and ensuring all refreshments are available and services functioning
  • Directing mail and packages from couriers/postmen to the clerks’ room
  • Assisting Chambers’ Administrator and Marketing Manager when required
  • Efficient ordering refreshments and stationery, ensuring stock levels always
  • Providing refreshments for conferences/clients when necessary
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required

 Skills Required:

  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English including excellent grammar
  • Able to offer a good first impression for Chambers both in person and via phone/emails
  • Initiative – essential in a small office environment
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Flexible approach to working, can-do attitude
  • Self-reliant – to keep alert and occupied when reception is quiet
  • To be computer literate, particularly MS Office
