Our client is a global business advisory, Consulting and Expert Witness firm that provides multidisciplinary solutions to complex challenges and opportunities for the Engineering and Construction Industry worldwide. With seven offices worldwide and over 100 staff and fee earners, this highly reputable firm continues to enjoy a period of growth in the UK and Europe. Leveraging their expertise and strong relationships with key experts across the globe, particularly the Middle East, they are looking to recruit a Director of BD – UK and Europe.

Working closely with the CEO and founder, this pivotal position has responsibility for the development of business, brand promotion and significant networking activities aimed at enhancing market profile and market share in the UK and Europe. A significant aspect of this role is to continue to develop and grow existing client relationships, while nurturing new business and contacts both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Significant pro-active and ongoing client relationship development and management
  • Plan, develop and implement strategic business and communications plan
  • Create targeted campaign strategies
  • Monitor the market and make recommendations for action
  • Diary Management
  • Draft pitches/tender documents and write effective proposals.
  • International travel as and when required, with particular attention to Middle East (Dubai and Qatar)

The successful applicant will have the following qualities:

  • Significant experience/knowledge of working in and a solid understanding of the construction and engineering legal sector (*15-20 years, working a similar BD role in this sector is essential)
  • Must have experience of working with international law firm clients, magic circle clients as well as small firms
  • Ability to work effectively and productively under own initiative
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a demonstrable focus on client management and BD
  • Have experience on managing people at all levels
  • Innovative and business smart
  • Enthusiasm and positive attitude
  • High attention to detail
