Our client is a leading set of Barristers’ Chambers with 65 Barrister members, including 20 QC’s who specialise in Employment, Public, Commercial and Media Law. Members act as both advisors and advocates in all aspects of their key practice areas, both domestically and internationally. Chambers prides itself on its friendly and professional atmosphere.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration and working closely with the Joint Senior Clerks and Members, this newly created role is responsible for ensuring chambers maintains excellent standards across its growing regulatory and compliance requirements.
The role has responsibility for all relevant policies, procedures, and information, ensuring this is always current and compliant – acknowledging where this can be improved or changed and communicating this effectively. It also acts as Chambers Equality Data Officer, Data Protection Manager and has shared responsibility for the creation and implementation of policies and procedures for data security and IT.
The role also oversees the regulatory obligations required by the Bar Standards Board, The Bar Council and The City of London Law Society as well as specialist Bar Associations.
Suitable candidates will already be working in a compliance role, (or it represents a significant element of their current position) and in a legal or similar professional services environment. They will possess outstanding communication skills and be capable of sharing information quickly and effectively and to a broad range of stakeholders. They will be meticulous with the detail, highly organised and a self-starter.
