Our client, 7BR is a leading multi-disciplinary Barristers’ Chambers, based in Central London with over 90 Members, including 17 King’s Counsel. Their main practice areas include Commercial and Regulatory, Employment, Family, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence and Crime.
Chambers now seeks a Civil Assistant Practice Manager, reporting to and taking direction from the Senior Clerk in the Civil clerking team. This newly created role works closely with and supports the Civil practice team, members of chambers, clients, and other colleagues.
Duties include:
- Daily diary and practice management
- Managing and processing instructions, briefs and recording of e-mails
- Liaising with Fees Clerks and instructing solicitors/courts
- Negotiating, calculating and recording fees
- Significant volume of administrative tasks
- In conjunction with others, carrying out marketing activities
- Attending internal and external events
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships
Person specification:
- A minimum of two A-levels/equivalent diploma
- A solid understanding of Microsoft Office packages
- The ability to communicate professionally
- The confidence to work under their own initiative
- To be well presented, articulate and able to explain issues clearly
- A team player
- Highly organised, attention to detail and a team ethic
