Our Client, Twenty Essex, a leading set of Commercial Barristers’ Chambers in London, is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate to the role of Practice Assistant. This important, hands-on role, will suit a Junior Clerk with 1-2 years’ experience, looking for the next step in their career.
The Person
Suitable candidates will ideally be educated to A Level standard or above and have 1-2 years of clerking experience. They must show initiative and willingness to work in a pressured environment. They must be well presented, with good communication skills and a tidy and organised approach to the working environment.
The Role
Working in one of the main Practice Management Teams, you will need to demonstrate an ability to perform in the following areas:
- Fees administration. Including, the entering of times, the recording of case related expenses, and the issuing of fee notes
- Recording diary bookings and booking of conference facilities
- Arranging business related travel and accommodation for Members
- Detailed recording of enquires/instructions/case descriptions, creating new cases, issuing of contractual terms
- The Preparation of materials for Practice Development Meetings
- Arranging the necessary call documents and work permits for overseas Court appearances
- Preparing client briefing notes for Members and the PM Team
- Supporting the Marketing and Practice Management team with internal and external event administration and setting up for events
- Any other office-related tasks that may be required by the Practice management team
