Our client, Three Raymond Buildings, is a leading Chambers, based in London, with a significant reputation in its core practice areas, Crime, Financial Crime, Extradition, Health and Safety, Inquests & Inquiries, Regulatory & Professional Discipline, Licensing, and Public Law. With 64 barristers, including 24 KCs, members are instructed to advise and act in many of the highest profile and complex cases of the day, some of which have a global reach and attract substantial media attention.
After a sustained period of growth, Chambers seeks to appoint a highly suitable individual to contribute to the smooth and efficient running of Chambers with the core responsibilities being billing and fees collection in addition to supporting the main clerking team with diary and case management.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of clerking or chambers related experience, ideally in criminal law.
Duties include:
- Supporting diary and case management as required.
- Working with and supporting the clerking team leaders.
- Answering the telephone, transferring calls and/or relaying accurate messages by email
- Billing as required, particularly with regard to publicly funded cases, including AGFS, SFO, CPS, GLD, Regulatory and Professional Discipline billing.
- Ensuring that cases are billed promptly
- Reporting to the Financial Controller with regard to fee chasing/credit control
- Assisting the Financial Controller with the timely collection of fees by maintenance of the credit control system
- Maintaining relationships with professional clients to ensure that the chasing of fees has no negative impact on our client relationships generally
- Managing the collection of publicly funded fees
- In conjunction with the Team Leaders and the Financial Controller, managing the collection of privately-funded fees
- Participating in marketing activities including arranging and attending events
