Our Client is a leading Barristers’ Chambers, whose Members are instructed in a wide variety of Commercial and Chancery areas, with an emphasis on business, property, corporate and commercial matters.
The purpose of the role is to work alongside the Practice Management Team to assist with the administration of the barristers’ practices. The role is integral to the efficient and effective functioning of the team. It is a busy, demanding role which requires strong interpersonal skills, organisation and the ability to muilti-task and prioritise.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Junior Clerk who is looking to step up in responsibility and take their career to the next level in a forward-thinking and friendly team.
Duties include:
- Assisting the Clerks with all aspects of diary and practice management
- Responsible for obtaining and notifying members of court listings and diary commitments for the following day
- Accurately recording incoming and outgoing papers, briefs and documents
- To be the first point of contact for members’ administrative requirements
- Assisting the Marketing Manager and Administration Assistant with seminars and other chambers events
The individual:
- Must have 1-2 years of previous clerking experience
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to work proactively and on own initiative
- Excellent time management skills
- Proactive and flexible as this role is varied
- Ability to work unsupervised and also part of the wider team
