Our client is one of the UK’s leading Barristers’ Chambers with an outstanding reputation in each of its main practice areas, including, Commercial, Construction and Energy Law. Chambers is acknowledged by the legal directories as “leaders in their field”. Chambers now seeks to appoint a suitable individual to the role of Team Clerk to join its highly regarded, friendly team.
Working alongside the Team Senior Clerk, the role has co-responsibility for practice management of a team within this large set of over 100 members. Working closely with members, colleagues, and clients, it offers an excellent opportunity for career progression and development within a highly effective and progressive environment.
Duties include.
- New and existing client relationship building and development
- Business development and marketing initiatives and opportunities
- Junior colleague management, performance monitoring and development
- Ensuring consistency in all aspects of diary clerking and fee negotiation for your team
- Dealing with potential clashes of professional commitments
- Ensuring consistent fair distribution of unnamed work received for your team
- Assisting with regular practice development meetings with all barristers for your team
Highly suitable applicants will ideally have 7-10 years’ experience in a busy, similarly successful civil Chambers. They will be enthusiastic, driven, highly personable and possess excellent attention to detail and a very strong work ethic.
