Assistant Team Leader

Leading Barristers’ Chambers – London WC1

£35k-£40k (depending on experience)

Our client is an established leading Barristers’ Chambers who have been in practice for over 125 years. Chambers has 60 members, including 13 King’s Counsel, all of whom are well known for their work in planning, property, public law, local government, housing, community care, licensing, regulatory law, and commercial matters, advising private and public sector clients. Its friendly team of staff is dedicated to providing high standards of service for clients and members.

Due to sustained growth within Chambers, they are looking to expand the clerking team. This newly created position will play a vital role in supporting their highly regarded clerking team. In addition to day-to-day clerking and business development, the new appointee will assist in the development of each member’s practice.

The role:

  • Diary and practice management for all members
  • Fee negotiation across all levels of seniority, practice area and type of work
  • Attending Chambers’ business development and marking events/seminars both internally and externally
  • Assisting with the training and development of more junior staff
  • Assisting with fixing in various Court divisions

Person Specification:

  • Articulate and able to demonstrate initiative and work as a team player;
  • Strong academic record (A level or equivalent minimum);
  • Ideally the candidate will have upwards of 3 years’ clerking experience;
  • Perform tasks accurately and efficiently under pressure;
