Our client is a leading multi-practice Barristers’ Chambers specialising in providing high quality advocacy and advice in asset forfeiture, criminal, business crime, civil, extradition, family and regulatory law. Chambers and its members are recognised in the leading legal directories as “leaders in the field” in each of their main practice areas.

Chambers now seeks to appoint a Fees Assistant to join their forward-thinking and friendly team.

Working under the day-to-day supervision of the Senior Fees Manager (SFM), the Fees Assistant (FA) role is to support the billing, collection, reconciliation, and distribution of members fee income.

The position is offered on a part-time flexible basis, as a support role to our full-time Senior Fees Manager. Home working will be possible following an initial in-person induction period, interspersed with short periods of time in chambers to ensure familiarity with the members, clerks and other staff.

All tasks are undertaken with the oversight the Senior Fees Manager, supported by the Chambers Director, Finance & Administration Manager, and the clerking team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Fee Billing: assist with the billing and submission of private and publicly funded fees.

Fee Reconciliation: assist with the reconciliation of fees, ensuring that payments received correspond with the amounts claimed or billed, identifying, and rectifying any discrepancies.

Fee Collection and Credit Control: under the supervision of the SFM, within a structured system the DFM will monitor and review overdue fees, taking appropriate recovery actions, recording all liaison on the LEX case record.
